WaterRower Inc. was formed in 1988 by John Duke, the original inventor of WaterRower's unique Water Flywheel.
The original offices and workshops were based in Rhode Island in New England, the North East of the USA. Today Their American Headquarters continues to be based in Rhode Island, in the small coastal town of Warren.
WaterRower (UK) Ltd was formed in 1991 to market and distribute the WaterRower throughout Europe under license to WaterRower Inc. Initially the company had offices in Fulham in London.
A 1993 agreement provided WaterRower (UK) Ltd with the additional right to manufacture the WaterRower, under license, for Europe. Workshops were established in the idyllic stately home of the Earl and Countess of Sandwich, Mapperton Manor. In 1995 WaterRower consolidated its offices and workshop under one roof, in Ravenscourt Park in West London, which remain it European Headquarters to this day. |
